whats tramlining

  The Jinx

Following the lines in the road. Yknow. When you get seams or imperfections in the tarmac, and the wheels tend to follow them.

Not necessarily bigger wheels, just wider tyres!

Wider tyre = more tyre in contact with the road.

Not necessarily small cars it can happen to any car but its mainly front wheel drive. I suppose it can happen more to small cars due to their light wieght

I found axle tramp was dead easy to invoke in the 172 I drove, especially out of tight corners. I thought the car was shagged at first.

its the wheel bouncing up and down its a right pain in the arse when powering out of corners and launching grrr what could fix it better bushes ?? new shox ben r we need you

Yeah i get it and have noticed it since i fitted 17s. there like twice the width of my old wheels tyres.

sometimes ill be going along and it will suddenly slightly turn left ill be like wtf :|

DOnt get it much though. Only some roads.

Axle tramp is uneven grip between the driven wheels..sometimes its lack of weight over them. Could be axle bushings..even the engine could be too loose! (wouldnt suprise me!)

My car goes all over the show when driving on any road, any slight road imperfections and my car just pulls to the direction the road leans. Im used to it now, but when i first put my 17s on i thought that the tracking or balancing was out, i got it checked and everything was fine.

Also my car does that axle tramping thing as well, should it do this i have coilovers and its a 1.2. Mostly does it when i slow down for say a roundabout and i wanna turn left, if i accelrate hard in to the corner from a stop it will bounce and the wheels are going round but i think they are not griping or something, i dunno. Its all good tho :)

ive had that once when it was raining, well it had stopped but the roads were really wet. I floored it and the wheels bounced and just did not grip.
