Whats your MPG??

  BMW M3
Driving at 135 will usually give better mpg then some garage chav taken it for a 'test drive' because at 135 your covering distance so quick and so better "miles" per gallon, rather then flying up and down the revs stop start etc lol Strange that really lol

the higher the gear the lower the fuel consumption, so suppose you can drive at 100+ ans still get pretty good fuel consumption

  BMW M3
Yeah... do like hot hatches for their mpg.

Was driving a 4.6 v8 X5 the other day and never once floored it (shame on me !!) and when i reset it, i was averaging 16 mpg on a slow trip in town lol.... i could thrash the living shight out the 182 and never see anything like that lol

23.6 - 24.5 mpg

Rather low for a 1.2

Maybe my maths is wrong?

  Williams

my 1.2 gets about 33-35mpg, but a fair bit of that is in traffic, so bound to be pretty bad!

also, i like to give it a bit of right foot to the speed limit!

Pushing a Clio through the air at 135mph at c. 7000rpm will not return better mpg than cruising at 80mph at c. 4000rpm. Surely Shirley?

Although I think I misread you slightly...still not sure about that though :D 135mph vs. ragging around town?

my best is 51mpg, average speed 57mph. But it's boring.

and justin....135mph will be pretty much at peak horse power, therefore using more power, which is energy over time.

stopping and starting, revving up and down, hitting peak power less often would surely be more economical.

My old 172 ph2 averaged about 40/45 mpg (with standard air filter).

My new 182 seems to average about 31mpg, but it is far more responsive.

Its not at the lights its just I tend to use 4th on the A1.

More power that way.

My 1.2 screams at me enough at 70 in 5th so wouldnt like to be in yours on a long journey in 4th on the motorway!

lol you must not worry about economy i'm guessing.

22mpg, shocking from a 1.2

happy with my 35mpg
