Wheel Balancing

I've recently changed my tyres on my 182 to another pair of PE2's however took it back to ATS twice about the wheel balancing.

I find that after 60ish the stearing wheel shakes like mad and I'm now not sure what to do :(

Anyone help with this please?

I have the same problem - between 60 and 70 the steering wheel just doesn't feel stable

Some performance tyres have a red spot on the sidewall. This red spot is marked on the lightest part of the tyre. When fitting the tyre to the rim, the red dot is supposed to line up with the valve as this is the heaviest part. The weights should counteract each other giving a better balance before any weights are added.

I work on aircraft and this is where I know this from.

^^ Hes right!! I work on them too. No creep marks on car tyres tho!!

I had new tyres fitted, it threw one of the weights off the nearside wheel and i had the same probelms as you! went back and gon another one put on.

Had this at weekend with my new fronts. Went back and one was balanced at 0 but the other was sitting at 80! (Thats a long way off) Re-balanced and now fine.

Just stand there while they are balancing. Usually put the pressure on a bit...
