i want to see how far my coilovers are from the bump stops,
however its quite low and the bumpstops are all the way up inside the chassis, and obviously the wheel is in the way,
jacking the car up means the suspension isn't carrying the weight of the car!

can i take the wheel off, and slowly lower the car onto an axle stand under the disc?? or any other suspension component, so i can see how far from the bumpstops i am??

thanks

hence why im asking lol,

but if the disc is pretty thick and strong,
and with a block of wood on the stand for the disc to sink into, it should spread the weight evenly

no no no!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! stop and listen to what you are saying.

just raise the car and put the axle stand on each end of the axle beam. that then gives you the weight on the beam with the wheels on. then do your adjustments.

there's still droop in the trailing arms, though. probably simplest/safest to take wheel-to-arch measurements as well, and do some maths
