Wheel Sealant

  Low!
I have just bought some new wheels and had them powder coated a new colour, before I put them on I want to put a few coats of something on.

Whats recommended, Poorboy's wheel sealant?

I don't rate it mate and the AG stuff in a can is just as bad, need to find something better myself

What about normal sealants used for the car paint then? I just want to protect them as much as I can from Tar and Brake dust so I don't have to use harsh wheel cleaners!

As good as the srp/egp combo is, it will not with stand the temperatures generated by the brakes.

Poorboys wheel sealant is very good. If you don't find that it works, in no uncertain terms, you're applying it incorrectly.

There are a few high temp sealants out there. Fk1000p, collinites 845, Swissvax autobahn etc etc.

I suggest you start with poorboys ws. If you don't like it, I'll buy it back off you.

AG SRP followed by AG EGP, then a few coats of poorboys wheel sealant will be great as said ;)

I've always found it to be pretty good, I sealed mine over a year ago, topped with wax and they still bead up when they're clean now!

No worries cheers :)

Have to bother myself to order some at some point. About time I went to costco and got a shed load of cheap towels aswell, I seem to bin them all after using them once or twice.

IMO, this stuff is a semi-permanent solution, so if you're thinking of redoing or changing the wheels in the next 5-8 months, it's a bad idea.

I intend to either change or refurb mine after winter, so pointless me applying it now. NY ---> summer will be my endurance test!

Got a set of OZ F1's I'm taking to get powdercoated in the next few weeks once I have transport, then hopefully another two sets next year on the cards. I don't think I'll ever stick with one set of wheels :)
