wheel size change help please

right got a clio 182 on 45 x 16 at min
if going to 17 to keep speedo right etc do i need 40 x 17
if you think right wrong please advise

Your right you need to make the tyre side wall smaller realy to make your speedo accurate. You need to know what width tyre you want though and times this by the second figure on the tyre to fide out the side wall ehight

ie 195/50/15 have a side wall height of 195 * 0.5 = 97.5mm
ie 225/30/15 have a side wall height of 225 * 0.3 = 67.5mm
