wheel spacers

i hate the way the standard dynamique wheels sit quite far in the arches on the rear of the clio, so im looking for some spacers for the rear to bring them out a bit, so need a bit of advice since im new to the idea.

do i need longer wheel bolts? if so where from?

any disadvantages?

and lastly where can i get the spacers?

cheers,
Martin

depends how properly you want to do it.

5mm spacers off ebay or any motor factors with standard bolts will do ok.

otherwise hubcentric spacers from eibach etc. with slightly longer bolts.

any bigger than 5mm and you'll deffo need new bolts.

i'll be getting all mine from my local motor factors to save on postage, as they're all similar prices

would want to do it properly, dont want the wheel falling of when im hammering it lol

so how much we looking at for 2 wheel spacers with 8 longer bolts?

is a wheel spacer a wheel spacer or do you need one for a clio?

cheers

Demon Tweeks sell 5mm univrsal one but ideally for even that you'd want longer bolts in which case might as well spend big and get somne decinet hubcentrial ones made up not cheap but they're safer and have longer bolts.
Disadvantages are bearingshould wear quicker.

Also if you stick them on the back alone 10mm etc the car might understear more.

so ideally id want 5mm all round?

where would i get some decent hubcentrial ones made up, and what does hubcentrial mean (sorry if its a stupid question lol)

also where would i get longer wheel bolts?

hubcentric means the hole in the spacer is cut out perfectly to the size of the hubs so they just 'slot on' and dont wobble about etc.

you can order them from FK / eibach etc. from all the normal supply chains. so demon tweeks, local motor factors, 2modified etc.

i get my longer bolts, again, from my local motor factors who sell them for about 2quid a bolt.

thats what i'll be going for.

non hubcentric ones are about 5quid a pair.

hubcentric ones off FK are around 25quid a pair iirc

i dont think you'd notice it. i'll be doing it purely for looks myself so the 15's fill the arches a little nicer

need 10mm on the front to get that sort of effect if your using the standard alloys.

5mm on the back just tucks it up nice. but you can order 8mm ones ;)
