Wheels....

Wanting smaller wheels than my current 17s as they affect performance too much for my liking. So I was thinking of willy wheels or maybe 16s in white, after seeing a few nice looking valvers on them recently? but im not sure yet. Want something light as the monzas weigh a bloody ton which doesnt help...!

Any thoughts?

Why not keep the 16s and look for a set of tyres that matches the diameter of the originals problem solved!

He has 17s.. The thing is, the weight of bigger wheels is what does the most damage methinks..

Look at paul172cup, he got 17s on it.. but, they are light so hes felt no difference.. i dont think a little extra diameter makes such a big difference.

Yes it does its the diameter that is the biggest killer!!!! NOT the weight. My new wheels are lighter than the standard 16s they are the same as paul172cups yet they slow me down cos they are 15mm bigger in diameter. I would never have believed it myself until its happend!!

Oh and they dont actually feel any different, you need to compare them to something, like a race only then will you see the difference!

Get some Phase2s on there mate! I did, and my handling improved no end.

Yeah iv got a set of phase 2s in the grage but everyone nicks the centre caps and it pi55ses me off. Fancy something different, thats why I like the golds. But it would be hard to part with such beauty lol....

In reply to your other comments, the difference is quite noticable. Feels v twitchy on the corners and acceleration has decreased somewhat....
