When selecting reverse....

Guys, On my 02 172, sometimes when I select reverse and then start moving, I hear a loud noise as if something is moving or the reverse gear is not being selected until I start moving and then it will jump into the correct gear, comes from the front of the car, possibly gearbox area??
Only seems to happen if I pull off a bit quick...

Any ideas/experience with the prob?

I had a similar prob, When i reversed sharpish i heard a knock, turned out to be my exhaust hitting my heat shield but obviously dont take that as your fault just a possibility thats all

Ye mine only does it when reversing sharpish....how did you solve it....if you have?

I find if i stop completly it doesn't do it.

so no need to worry then? mine has done this a couple of times lately only when turning while reversing into a space, full lock
