where can i find chassis number?

hi fellow members,
i've been to look at a clio sport 172 this weekend. I cant find where the chassis number is stamped into chassis, i find the VIN on the inside of drivers door, but it did'nt have the VIN number on the windscreen. Any ideas!:S

its under a flap of the carpet under the drivers seat
