Where can I get some decent mesh from ?

I'm in need of some thicker mesh to cover my discgraceful back boxes

Can anyone recommend some nice stuff ? Black if possible as I don't want to stray too far form the oe look (something along the lines of the stuff sm wrc had in his pics the other day would be great)

Or if any one can recommend the mesh part of a bumper from a another car ? (like the stuff used on focuses etc)

I was going to get the mk2 vee mesh, but it's a lot of money from Renault & i'm not paying that !

Please don't suggest junking the exhaust & going aftermarket, the one that's on it is fine & i'm not paying out £500 for one yet.

get it polished

best bet is to look around some ebay shops, and then have it powdercoated in black if necessary.

As middo says, remove the mesh/ bumper and polish the exhaust boxes up. Then get the mesh powdercoated in black, would look much smarter.

If you want new mesh however, have you tried tweeks/ halfords?

Also garden centres and pond/ farm centres will do it dead cheap in various sizes/ shapes.

what about painting the exhaust like the range rovers... just use black heat proof paint in a can... roughen up the surface first...

I may polish it up, it's only mild steel though (I think)
One of the dudes on v6clio has the same prob as me so is painting his black, I think i'm going to see what his looks like first.

The mesh thats there is dark grey, but as it's some chicken wire effort, it's not that thick at all.

Other than that it looks like i'm off to b&q or halfrauds.

Ah right i work in the one in speke liverpool but im sure they all sell it. Its usually kept by the Corregated plastic n s**t for roofs.

Not thought of k tec, i'll give them a try too.

Only motor shop round my way is halfrauds & I hate that place ! Still if it means i've goota go there, I better had.

they got loads of the stuff at halfrauds. cant remember if it black though.
could paint it with hammerite if it isnt.

I'm in two minds now, it's either get polishing the scummy back boxes & see how they come up (they probs won't come up that good:dapprove: )
Or just mesh them in leaving them as they are. Decisions Decisions !
