Where did that 10bhp come from????

Was just wondering if anyone can tell me where Renaultsport extracted an extra 10bhp to make the 182? Was it from a tweaked exhuast? Also has anyone had a 182 on the rolling road to prove the increase?

4-2-1 exhaust manifold over the 4-1 IIRC.

j3ned was selling some, last time I enquired, he wasn't. £200 a pop for the manifold, some cutting is also required.

nope, same as the 172, the castings are a tiny bit better (but still crap)

Been on the K-tec website, they have a 4-2-1 manifold with cat for about £650 inc vat, not bad for a 10-12bhp increase. Obviously labour will be a bit!

Good point asked. i havent heard of any 182 owners RR'ing their cars....
i know alot of peeps 172's ran a bit less than the suppossed.

yeh i wouldn't take renaults word for it that the 182 is actually 10bhp more than the 172, I'm sure a RR would make interesting reading.

I was referring to the 182 not being 10bhp + more than the 172, not nec the 172 and 182 being 172bhp and 182bhp.

Check the link, it shows diff between 172 and 182 being about 7bhp ... bugger all really

172 ISN'T 172 bhp, its 166bhp (on average)

you got to remeber tho that the 182 also gained more torque over the 172 but did actually lose some as well in mid rev range.
