Where is the idle control valve?

As above on 182, think this is what caused my car to die last night.

there isn't one as such, its controlled by the stepper motor inside the TB

o right, Are there any other sensors that would cause the car to rev on its own and loose throttle control?

air leak is normally the most common cause, was it reving at around 2-3K constant?

Have you removed the acoustic valve?

It was hunting between 2000-2300 rpm. all lights up on dash. was very wet last night though so im hoping it was just water. Started ok after a hour or so and the only light still on is the engine emission one, the rest went out.

Still have the acoustic valve.
