Where is the VIN number on the chassis on a 05 182?

Anyone know where it is stamped onto the chassis? I'm not talking about the one in the window or the one on the door post.

I failed my NCT (MOT in Ireland) because the tester couldn't find it and I had no clue where it was either.

Allegedly it's under the carpet under the driver's seat.

I say "allegedly" because I've never found it.

I'm guessing if he's failed his MOT then it'll be because they can't find it stamped on the actual shell.

Very good point! Not on the pillar as you open the drivers door? Or you have a ringer??

It's on the door and windshield alright, but I failed cos the tester couldn't find it stamped on the body itself. Seems to be a requirement here in Ireland.

Ill have a look under the seat/carpet tomorrow

Good man! Just what I wanted. Looks like ill have to put a slice in the carpet so it can be lifted up and accessed.
