Where the fck is all my coolant going?!?!

Replaced a hose yesterday and flushed the system through the bottom radiator hose, took out the thermostat gave it a gd clean...

Put everything back go to fill it up I get about 1.5L of coolant in and the expansion tank starts overflowing?? Thought it took 7L but anyway ran the engine let the level go down probably got another 2L in then it wasn't going down anymore at all...

Just checked it now after driving to and from today (engine cold now) and the expansion tank is empty?? Can't see any leaks and no puddles under the car, what's going on :S

What you wanna do mate is run turn the engine on, put your heaters on full heat and turn the fan on to maximum. Open the expansion tank give the engine one or two small revs, and pump one of the big hoses that connect to the rad. this will clear out any air pockets. So with your engine running and the heaters and fan on full wack, you then top the coolant up to the desired level that will give you a difinative level!

Cheers I'll try that! Lost the radiator bleed valver stupid plastic crap snapped off so had to seal the hole
