Where to get camber adjusted?

Ive been enquiring to all the local garages near me (around 10-15) to try and get the camber taken off the front wheels, then get the car re-tracked.

basically there is quite a bit of negative camber on the front wheels, which is limiting me to how low i can go, because if i go any lower than it is now the tyre rests on the shock absorber. IIRC edde told me it was like 1.5deg negative or something maybe?

anyway, as soon as i mentioned camber to any of the garages they just said they could not do it.... are there any reasons for this? Like, id say 'what sort of price do you charge for tracking'... most were around 20-30 quid, but as soon as i mentioned getting the camber done beforehand they just turned me away...

does anybody know where i can get the camber done in the north west, like warrington way? I know tweeks would do it, but its a bit of a treck for me....

cheers if anybody can help... :approve:

there are 7mm spacers on there at the moment...

yeah theyre FK coilovers, i have no idea how camber is adjusted i just know there is alot on from when edde fitted it, which has been perfect up until now... but now its just limiting me as its rubbing on the shock if i go any lower, even with the 7mm spacers on...

prosport in stockport do it for £175

most places dont have the facility to do it youll need camber correcting bolts and laser alignment

why would i need camber correcting bolts?

i was originally on 0deg when they were first setup, perfectly square.

then, as i went lower the wheel was close to the top of the arch, so edde put more camber onto it so i could go lower.

now there is too much camber on it as even lower means its touching the shock.... so i just want to go back towards the 0deg mark.... didnt think id need bolts for this seeing as it was like this to start with?

What about a 4 wheel alignment specialist, Mines been 4 wheel tracked at Nottingham Alignment Serivces.

well it seems you have coilovers with ajustable camber then, still around the £150 mark

why on earth would you want to go low enough that you have to start losing camber? ull only lose handling anyway

because people have said to me 1.5deg negative is a bit extreme for road use, so take some of it off to get it back to say .5 degree negative so i can go lower..... tbh i couldnt give a sh**e about handling, its a 1.2!

1.5 isn't too much for the road at all, I'm running 2.3 degrees of negative camber and my tyres are lasting longer than the last set already lol

I got mine setup at Pro Sport, I have FK's too and it took half a day... although they completely setup the cars handling to be fair... that was a little more than £175 though hehe

to go really really low you need to run no more than 0.5 deg neg on a 1.2

if you know what you're doing you can set them up by eye

lmao, i have no idea what im doing ;)

thought it should be bout half a degree, which means taking a degree or so off my current setup...

and £20/per half hour for labour of doing the camber, i explained that the fk's have adjustable camber but he didnt have any clue to how long it would take them.... so i just said il call back if i need it doing.... thats the cheapest ive found upto now...

...if what fred tells me is easy enough, im gona attempt it with ryan and then get it tracked locally i think :)
