where to get cams done?

The belts are needing done shortly so whilst i am getting it done i figured i'd be as well as growing a set and getting a set of cams as well.

so i am looking for somewhere to do:

dephaser, cam belt, aux belt, water pump
428 cams
re-map
RR figures for before and after
camshaft and crankshaft oil seals
rocker cover gasket


anyone got any recommendations, Preferably in Scotland but i will be willing to travel to have the work carried out
also can anyone think of anything else that would be worthwhile doing whilst they are in and around the engine?

I always use Cooksport, however they are in Bath which is a long way from Scotland. If your willing to travel I would highly recommend them.

They have just built a stainless exhaust and remapped my car for me, the difference is unbelievable between the standard engine.

if your going to be throwing a bit of money at it, it might be worth putting some higher spec cams in with updated valves and springs, that way you will see some better gains. You don't want to spend all that money and wish you had gone for a bit more power!!

Better off traveling down to somewhere like BTM or 519 automotive. If I was you I would get matched inlets fitted at the same time too. Ktec induction kit could be worth a shout too or you could make your own.

Im sure SWR Autos in Stirling would be able to fit cams easily enough for you, saves adding a couple of £££ to your bill traveling down south.

You don't need valves and springs.


I got mine done at Renault (years back) as it worked out cheaper when adding up the petrol costs on top of the work.

You live in Scotland. Swr in Stirling are Renault specialists who also build and race cars, they have worked on many members cars on here including mine and are top notch. Makes me laugh all the English on here that say 519 and btm like they are the only people who can work on cliosports and that we should drive hundreds of miles to them rather than use local specialists. Rant over

thats where 99% of scottish people on here take their clios to have belts done
i wasn't so sure if they done cams and RR?

They do pretty much everything. They don't have a rr but do have their preferred mapper they use . Of course they can fit cams it's not rocket science. Check their website or give them a call
