Where to get solid top mounts . . . .

I know the ast's have to be machines to fit whatever shocks you are running. Is this not the case for compbrakes?

haha, having pc errors all over the place today. Think it will be the comp brakes as plan to go to koni ajustables at some point. Obviously if i got the AST's i'd need them machining again and setting up again

I have Compbrake top mounts fitted to standard shocks and the ride is really good, even with Sportlines springs. No machining required at all to fit them either.

Give them a call direct and see what the price is. They were really helpful when I had to order another set of rubber O-rings and washers:

Bought mine 2nd hand but hardly used for £80ish I think.

Easy to fit once you know what has to come off and the order it goes back in, I didn;t have fitting instructions. The hardest bit is getting the top nuts undone. I had to borrow another compressor from a friend as mine didn't hold enough pressure for the airgun to really move the nut. once that's off it's easy!!!

Then just take it to check the tracking.

If you go for the Compbrake mounts, this is the order there fitted from top to bottom:

Topmount lock ring
Rubber Washer
Chassic Turret
Rubber O-ring
Rubber Washer
Suspension strut nut
Main top mount
10 - 15mm spacer/ collar
Spring Hat
Spring

tehy should do depending in the brace i had a k-tec brace an comp brake top mounts and they fit fine

I don't see a reason why not, Mine are no bigger than the standard rubber mounts

how much are mark fish's example? Thing that puts me off is the drilling, and think that would defo be a no no with strut brace
