Where to recycle old computers?

Between me and my little bro we have about 4 defunct pcs and 2 17" monitors that are probably worthless.

Where can we dispose them? I suggested flogging them on eBay but my Bro recons it would be hassle than its worth for how much we'd get for them.

If they are old and useless take em to your local tip . Just make sure you either remove the old hard drives or smash them up .

Try your local freecycle....www.freecycle.org, someon will bite our hand off for them.....

Don’t know about your local council but mine take in old IT equipment at their tip sites and donate it so some African computer charity. I took my 17”CRT to them when I got my 19” widescreen.

Yep - officially, you're supposed to despose of them properly. The local tip may charge you if you take several PCs in one go. That's if you get a job's-worth there on the day though. At work, we pay to have them taken away. A pain in the ass, but I can see the bigger picture, as to why...
