Which car wax

I've found I can get autofinesse desire or spirit pretty cheap. Whats the real difference between them? Would I notice a difference over my nattys blue?

How come? Did it not perform as well then or look as good or? Do you mean it's better to apply then? Last longer?
It applies lovely. It dident perform great and the beading is not what i call tight & uniform. Carbon is great in everyway

Vantage is a joy to use but don't sheet as well

Any particular reason you are going for a wax rather than sealant at this time of the year mate?

Probably my own niaevity! I figured maybe a sealant would be best I don't have a clue :( tell me what to do lol XD should I seal it and then wax it or just seal it? Love the depth of shine that even nattys gives so imagined a quality wax would like ace but thought sealants were rather boring compared to it?

It's really down to personal preference but I'm sure Kyle will be with me in thinking that sealants are the way forward during the winter months.

My money would be going on something like CarPro Reload. Using sealants is extremely easy, it's far quicker than waxing and generally gives a more durable finish which is ideal during the winter months. There are a fair few decent sealants available, again it's personal preference but I'm pretty keen on Reload or G-Techniq C2V3.

You could even consider a touchless protection, something like CarPro Hydro2 or Gyeon Wetcoat which are simply sprayed onto the paint whilst it's still wet after a wash and the using a wax-enriched QD to top up after washes.

That would be my advise and then look at spending the money on a nice wax for the spring/summer months next year.

Wow right well i was thinking sealants but I thought they gave a more boring finish kind of?

Could I just put the reload down then and just stick some nattys over it for that glossy look? Or is that pointless? And use the nattys for now then and buy the nice wax for the new year?

Sealants generally give a lovely sleek looking finish, especially on lighter colour paints. During winter however, I would be more concerned about protection and durability which is where sealants will excel.

A good combo is something like CarPro Reflect, topped with a couple of coats of Reload or Auto Finesse Tripple topped with a couple of coats of Tough Coat.

For £30-40 for the 2 products I don't think you can go wrong..

If you want to top a Sealant base with a wax that's fine, however, as I mentioned before it's not going to be overly durable especially with the winter weather. That's really your choice but it's not going to do any harm.

Hope that helps.

I Like bouncers vanilla ice wax.

Sealants have used both reload and c2v3 and found c2v3 lasted alot longer than reload when i tested both.

If you want durability spirit and desire will see you just fine with 6months durability. If you want glossy looks and durability desire is great. On a silver car I'd maybe opt for spirit of the two

Not quite sure what Kyle did with his AF waxes but certainly did something wrong. If you can get them cheaper than RRP they're definitely worth a look

Spray sealants like reload and C2 are as easy and quick to use as a quick detailer. But I don't find there own durability to be all that great. Used as a top up to maintain protection the work great. Zaino z2 i found to last considerably longer but wasn't all that impressed with the finish. Acts as a good base for waxing over through

Haha! s**t im so confused. I enjoy doing the car and it's black so think desire might be the man for the job. Question is, will I notice any difference over the nattys blue? Gonna decontaminate then polish then ill maybe wax then original plan haha.

Thinking about it everyone has a different stance on it really don't they I suppose so long as she's protected that's all that matters really?

Oh and will it ever get too cold here to polish and wax etc? Just with it pulling in cold etc?

Thanks :)

I just find AF waxes hugely grabby. The water behaviour is poor compared to a lot of waxes. The finish aint to bad but its nout special

See I just can't work out what you did to experience that, as it's very different to my findings with all they're waxes, the only one that was a bit finicky with application was temptation but get it right and it wiped off like illusion
