Which Clio is it???

Ive seen a few clio's about now with the Full 172 body kit on (bumpers, skirts, panels) and also with rear disc's but the engines are only 1.4 16v and 1.6 16v. what version of the clio is this? the dynamic or the extreme or wot?

These cars look standard as well, as if they have just been bought like that.

Only the 172/182 should look like the Renaultsport models mate.

Well ive seen about 4 now that have got the rear Disc's side skirts, front bumper and not sure on the rear but 100% the rest and They 100% sed 1.4 and 1.6 on the side badge, which is why i couldnt believe it and i would really like one lol.

unless a dealer near you is kitting standard cars up?

no idea but its just what im after, since i love the 172/182 body kits because it just looks nice and smooth and advantage of the rear disc's and the smaller engine more economical yet with a little bit of power. need to find out what Model they are.

Could be the 1.4 / 1.6 extreme?

didnt think any clios other than the RS came with rear discs, gfs brother has a 1.4 dynamic and that has drums

...or people are sticking 1.4/1.6 badges on their 172/182 just to do a surprise take off on the lights? ;)

lol its an idea that ive thought about but some how i think there teachers cars from the uni whcih is where i see them and also see them around the streets to. i will take a photo of one tomorrow and post it on the forum and then you can question it cuz im totally stumped :S

All im after is a bigger engine mainly but would like all them features as well if possible. DRoppin an engine in has its disadvantages like not being able to turn the clock back and it being classed as a completly modded car by insurence, also finding an engine lol

i know which one you mean, its the 1.4 / 1.6 end of line models. they have rounded fog moulds on the outr front bumper, colour coded all round with slightly lower skirts and simular RS rear and 172 style alloys in 15`s although i wouldnt go as far as saying it looks like an RS, its more like out of the corner of your eye you think it is then you noitce its a boggo model.

still with some spacers and nice wheels + lowering it would look ok

phase 3 1.6 16V Dynamique's on a 54 plate or newer i think it is have rear disks, Extreme 4s are colour coded as well as Phase 3 Dynamiques on a 54 plate or newer (sure its 54) the Phase 3 MK2 has the newer style better looking front bumper with the fog lights sticking out it slightly and a one piece front grill on the bumper. they also have the "digi-dash" dials with the bigger LCD screen in the middle where the fuel and temperature guages were on the PH1 and Ph2 MK2s

  yep.
most people seem quite surprised a _lowly_ clio can go that quick anyway!!

[in my experience!!]

As said there are a few dealers who have sold kitted up cars with the Renault bodykits.

The 1.6 16V and 100dci along with some 80dci and 1.4 9i think) ave the rear disks. You can tell the differenced between a none RS and a badged up one by loooking at the dash or having a look through the grill the RS radiator is much bigger plus 172/182 brakes are noticably bigger. If you have a 172 with 15's then the brakes fill the wheels with 16's they look normal a none rs with 16's you'll see the disk is too small.

I own a 1.6 16v dynamique and I haven't got rear discs.

pre 04 model?

and harry, i would think the 1.4 16V would be faster once it gets going, probably the diesel would pull away faster having more torque but im not sure on that one, i know my mates 206 HDi is faster than my clio when launching but once you get going my cars faster. plus top end on diesels isnt to great because they dont rev high enough (on some anyway not sure if thats true for all)

My mates 1.6 52 model has disks im sure of it.

And its totally stock.

And about the one with the 172 kit on didnt they do for a short run the 1.6 renault sport or somethign it was in the sports range very similar kit to the 172/182 but ws only a 1.6 engine or something like that i remember seeing on the renault website.

DCi100 is 10.4secs to 60. I thinks that makes it quicker than a 1.4 16v. My mates got one and is the mid range when it really kicks in. extra gear change kills its time.

them fake rear discs are poo! lol the very first clio i bought had a set on, i took them straight off! u got any pics of these mysterious clios yet??

Yeah I'd be interested to see a picture as well!

For me, the most immediate giveaway that phase 2s aren't a 172/182 is the front grille. That's what I notice first in traffic.

Someone had a black Billabong down my road that looked VERY similar to my 172.

i just have the edge over a dci100, but can pull away from 1.4 16v a ltille easier, in fairness, it'll be down to the driver. I have a 1.6 8v btw
