Which Cobra Seats?

Ok im in the market for some Cobra seats for the Cup but need some opinions/advice as to which ones to get.

Thought Monaco's or Imola's but then heard they are uncomfotable over long distances so need some that are comfortable but that hold you in well so thinking either Daytona's or Suzuka's but having just priced up a Suzuka and subframe package for £828 it kinda made my eyes water!

Any advice or opinions welcome!

Suzuka is a great seat, the Carbon one is less than 5kg but also a few £100 more than the standard one which is only 7kg or so.

I'd say the Evolution is the hardcore daddy, but very pricey, something like a grand each for the carbon technology one. Not worth that for a 172 really imo, although you can also take them from car to car can't you.

To be honest, I'd say it's hard to get a seat that's less comfortable than the stock one, no? Especially Cobra's offerings.

Yeah see i was originally looking at Daytonas a few months ago, but now i have a bit more cash to throw at a pair i thought i'd shop around.

Do you sit much lower than in the standard seats? Thats really what im after as being 6"4 i feel perched too high.
What the lumbar support like as well?

they are lower as im 6ft and its much better, you can get extra low subframes for them aswell. Speak to Yozzasport as i think they like them. They are not as track focused as others but in terms of day to day there fine (30,000 miles last year in them). Much better lumbar support than standard

i think the suzuka would hold their shape better over time but the daytonas look more comfortable day to day!! i cant remember what imola look like

Oh i have seen that pic before. Do you know which colour they are mate as Cobra have about 100 different colour combos!!! They go well with the cups interior.

That's my old 182. Colour was black on black. Perfect seat IMO. Comfy over a long journey, supportive on a track day, and a lower (better!) driving position than the Recaro's. (Lower Recaro's would be perfect)

Yay!!! I have asked so many times about what seats to choose and i think i may have finally found what i want. Comfy, good for odd trackday, standard looking and cheaper than recaros!!! What do you mean by black on black because on the cobra website there is black fabric, black vinyl, black leather and black alacantra!!! LOL. Also i don't suppose you could briefly describe what you need to fit them as i don't really have a clue about subframes and sidemounts etc.

Haha same here!!! Thats blackrock in the pic i posted but i'm wondering if thats blackrock in the pic Warren posted. The blue/grey patches match the cups doorcards and well.

They don't recline though, which is something i want really. Suzukas are geared toward racing as well aren't they.

If you contact Cobra direct (they're in Telford! )

They can do them in any colour options you like...factory sale is every November...and they offered 2 Daytonas, with subframes in whatever colour I wanted with free stitching (so whatever emblem I wanted) for circa £450 for the pair.

There are also the Misanos and there are a cheaper version of the Misanos which use vinyl instead of leather and steel instead of aluminium for about £650-£700 the pair.

Marc @ Cobra has said that he can sort some out with a semi-decent discount, but we'd need numbers!

I met him when we went up to Cobra for the Rolling Road day up in Telford. Spoke to Marc then. Got his mail address, and tried to get a price when I was looking for a set of seats (still haven't bloody got 'em!) he was looking for maybe a group buy direct from them to get decent discount (imagine the mark up the retailers are getting! :quiet:

I was tempted by the Misanos (they are cheaper and heavier than the full on versions, but nice all the same!) but was gonna plump for the Daytonas...:approve:

We can try and get a thread going...but its too soon just after Xmas, and getting people to commit fully is always a potential nightmare.
