I got the Menzerna kit with mine but didn't get on very well with the pads, not sure what the sonus pads are like.

  Golf GT & A4 Avant
IMO go for the standard DA over the Pro version. Unless you're going to be corrected a lot of cars I can't see the price justification myself.

Have a look for chemical guys hexlogic pads, You'd probably do ok starting with a black, white and green pads.

Have you done anything with your car before in terms of detailing? used a pre wax cleaner/ glaze, even something like autoglym SRP? A good way to learn is to use something like a pre wax cleaner or glaze and use your polisher with a soft finishing pad to apply it to the paint, results will be very impressive over hand application, you won't get the correction like you would with a proper polish compound but it'll give you good experience of using the machine before you use anything aggressive on the paint.

The Menz pads are poor. You'll get a better response posting in the detailing section

I never buy in bundles. Better off buying what YOU need.

Have a read in here...

Woah Gally, seems like you definitely know your stuff! Learnt quite a bit reading through that. Besides the fact that renault paints are hard what about the colour? You have to use certain compounds for certain colours don't you? I have a Pearl Black clio with a lot of swirls, scratches and the odd bird dropping stain.

Cheers :)

I've tried some manual paint correction in the past using T-Cut. But I never used a machine before. I have used autoglym in the past but when I ran out I switched to turtle wax's Crystal Ice Liquid Polish. Cheers for the advice I'll definitely try that out before trying anything risky!

I'll steer clear from the Menzerna pads then, cheers!

So then from reading through the thread shown I have gathered that I should get...

2 buckets, w/ 2 grit gards.
A decent shampoo -
Iron-X for Wheels -
Lambswool mitts and not sponges. -
Better shammies -
Clay bar and lubricant - http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/detailing-clay/clay-magic-perfect-finish-kit-100g-clay-/prod_41.html
Das-6 Pro Polisher - http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/polis.../das-6-pro-dual-action-polisher/prod_673.html
Hex Pads (Green, Blue And White?) - White Checmical Guys 5.5" Hex , And some others, any advice on what ones?
Some Polishing compounds (I'm clueless I think these two) - http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/index.php?_a=viewProd&productId=217 http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/index.php?_a=viewProd&productId=696
A sealant for the paint when done (Again clueless) - http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/sealants/meguiars-21-synthetic-sealant-v2-0/prod_206.html
And a detail spray to maintain - http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/detailing-sprays/meguiars-quik-detailer-mist-wipe/prod_663.html
