ok looking to fit a induction kit to my 53 plate 172 sport , dont quite know which to go i looking at a pipercros VIPER or a K&N 57i what do people recomend to go form what is better which will sound better and give a better power gain

  MY10 R35 GTR
the power gain is hardly worth spendin the money on, thats if there is a power gain

Viper over K&N but unless coupled with other mods there will be little (if any) power gains.

Don't bother with the 4-2-1 unless you're going down the K-Tec route.

Personally I'd add a panel filter keeping the OE airbox, then decat it and add a decent aftermarket exhaust. Should free up things a little :)

so looks like to go for the piper cross viper then ,over the 57i , where the best place to put the air feed in ,was looking where it can go and by looks will have to run down behind left light and go to bottom grill and hide behind there

i'd stay away from power flow.

the manifold is fine so dont worry about that, get a yozza system.

as for i/k if you want noise go for simota.

:S I see lots of peeps saying about powerflow..but cant understand why.
My bf has had a powerflow fitted on his vr6 for 2 years now with no problems,
and iv had mine for 6 months..and its great.
You get a lifetime guarentee and it sounds the nuts.
I heard they had a problem in the past..with shoddy workmanship, but that all got sorted, with people being sacked.
You get a choice on how you want it to sound, a choice of tailpipe, a lifetime guarentee...all for £200.

  cock mobile.
I can seriously say..we have never had any problems with them.

It really depends on the fitter and the depo in question.

I'm sure there are some good examples out there, but lets be honest they just knock an exhaust up and slam it on, no thought on flow, restriction, sound, etc etc.

I'd rather get a system that was manufactured for the car.

Or if I really wanted custom go somewhere with a good reputation, H&S, etc.
