Which Karcher?

Car  titanic killer
Which model pressure washer should i go for?
I would want one with enough power but not spending crazy money?

depends what its for, for car cleaning the base medel would be enough to losen dirt if you wanted to use it for more heavy duty ones

type karcher into ebay theres a bloke who sells brand new ones at rediculous prices

Check on Argos, they seem to have a good range and at good prices, going to get mine from there I think. Otherwise Robert Dyas often have them on sale.

apparently one of those listed above are about £90,they say there grade A does that mean there just ones that have been sent back for some reason then checked and re boxed?

Personally if i was buying one and could wait a while i'd go for the one that they get in Aldi every couple of months . It's a Karcher but rebranded under a different name for Aldi . It was £75 last time they had one in . It's got a higher pressure and flowrate than the ones you've mentioned on ebay . Plus you get a 3 year guarantee with it .

Heard about these before i never go in tho..

i bought a recon'd one off of ebay. £100+ model bought for £35 delivered. had it 18months and never missed a beat :)

does anyone know what the attachment is called that goes on the end of the actually gun and allows shampoo to be applied to the car while washing. Seen it on detailingworld but dont know what its called. Its like a little bottle that i guess screws on the end.

This is what i mean:

Those i listed above with links seem to give more product for the money, dont no weather you get the same warranty with it thou

TBH my dad is ordering it, you might get "more" with those other ones but don't really need all the extra paraphanlia or power. Plus with a thing like that I prefer buying from a shop anyway as its easier to take back if anything goes wrong, e-retailers can be unconcerned once you have bought things from experience, although that guy might be fine.

Good point actually,i guess the difference in price is always gonna be because of there power and water rate but you dont want one with massive power or you can damage things quite easily imo,i just want a simple one with a foam lance as thats all i want it for

Yeah same here. Even the one I linked for £60 comes with a decent lance, but I will be replacing it with a foam lance anyway so already thats a waste!

And yes, all the extra power isn't really necessary for cars. At work we used to use a washer that was about the size of a go kart, took 2 hands to use and went up to temperatures of 90 celcius with diesel power - all well and god for volume work but would strip any protection you have on a car right off. It even had to be serviced like a car...was a BEAST!

Ive just been showing my mate the karcher website and he recons his old dear has one in there garage that she doesnt use so his on the way to fetch it now as we speak,he says i can have it for nowt, sweet

Ha fair play. TBH I have used my nan's one - one of the smallest available and works well, powerfull enough to clean driveways with certainly - and considerably more powerfull than a hose!

Yeah probably - they are fine though mate for your needs IMO. The one I am thinking of getting is the same sort of style, with no wheels. Personally the small size is a benefit - easier to store at home and fit in the car when working.

Are you looking to get a foam lance to go with it Turner by the way?

yeah hopfully mate now the pw hasnt cost me anyting will be able to get one when payday arrives
where you thinking getting your lance from?

iv got the second karcher one on the argos website, well worth the money, powerfull too!

Autobrite I think - they do their own version which is meant to be really good, and also do a more durable version for a tenner more which everyone seems to recommend.

Try giving them a call, the guys name is mark and was very helpfull when I rang him. Think the heavy duty version is around £55, which seems a lot as its almost as much as the washer itself!

Otherwise Tim at Clean Your Car has the Karcher version.

Let me know if you see any good deals and which one you go for, and I'll do the same mate.

As per my thread http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?t=279056 I'm pleased with the AB foam lance, but it is a bit tight to get on the end of the karcher lance, it can be a pain at times. Make sure you grease the end.

I have got some super snow foam also, but I personaly think it doesn't foam up like the above pic. So need to find out if there is any solution I can add to the super snow foam to get some super duper foam

Apparently maxi suds or there was a product from 7Mats shop that had good effects in conjunction with snow foam
