whos car do you think would do a better on a 400 round trip mostly big motorways, wont be driving fast as will have young kids in the car to??

girlfriends car - fiat punto 1.2, x reg

any ideas???

gotta be the clio, if you take it easy there won't be much in it. I had a 1.2 punto as a hire car for a couple of months months and it was unbelivably crap on fuel - probably cos you have to rev the balls off it to get anywhere

Clio for me too.You wont really notice the difference in fuel at the end of the trip. There probably wont even be 10 quid in it

My Girlfriends 1.2 55 plate punto does 50mpg in general and then at 60/65mph on motorway thats up to nearly 60mpg. So it could cost you 50% more to take the clio, especially with optimax being £1.20ish.

I'd still take the clio though.

A 1.2 on a motorway, no ta ! 2.0 all the way.

Cat171 knowsit.

The 172 should average over 40mpg easy at 70-80.

Just dont be a chav and race anyone. Giving is RS owners a bad name.

What are you going to do when you do your 400 miles? If its just staying put take the clio. If its all town driving I'd be tempted to take the Punto.
