Im looking to get aux and probably timing belts done.

I know its 36k for aux and 72k for timing.

There are a couple of sellers offering different "kits" on ebay.

Can anyone with any knowledge tell me which one I need for which belt etc?

I have a friend that can carry the work out but cant get hold of him at the moment to let me know what kit to get.

Thanks in advance.

anyone know how much K-tec charge for fitting aux/cam belts???

they all look correct, BUT there is a problem with the cambelt kit, one of the idler pullies is incorrect if the kit is the wrong part number, hence why i always suggest ordering it from renault using your number plate

The aux belt kit is no cheaper than renault iirc, and the timing belt kit is missing an idler infact it looks like a kit for the 1.4/1.6. As I never got a new crank pulley bolt with the 1*2 kit but did with the 1.6 one.

So shall i get the aux belt kit from ebay as its genuine renault???

just go to renault, as i say you'll get the correct parts (PLUS all new parts from renault come with a 12month warranty, you don't get that from e-bay sourced parts)

the one of e-bay does say "picture is just a guide, you will recieve 2 idler's, 1 tensioner and the belt"

but you'll save a grand total of about £5 and possibly get the wrong bits, your risk

aux belt doesnt really need doing at 36k unless its cracked id check the condition of them first then decide wether they need doing or not, cam belt at around 60k

I bought my aux and cambelt from kineholmecars, the second two of your links! I can vouch for them. They are really helpful and also are a renault main dealer, all parts have 1yr warranty etc. They're also cheaper than buying from a local dealer somehow! Think they're overstocked or something! Hope that helps.

As already mentioned, just buy from Renault. Your getting your mate to fit them so your saving shed loads anyway :)

Would personally never use ebay for essential parts and cam / aux belts are very much essential areas. One cheap product or c**k up could cost you £££££££££££
