Which spacers..

Hi Guys,

I have a 1.2 16V clio, that I have fitted 16" 172 alloys too..

I recently made a thread about the rubbing, I put 5mm spacers on it and thought the problem had stopped, I had an MOT today however and as an advisory he has said that the inside of the near side rear tyre is rubbing I looked at it and to my shock it has a LOT :(

So im now asking what spacers I should get im assuming 10 MM would fix this problem.. but im not sure. Anyone had this problem?

also which spacers would you recommend?

Many thanks,

James/Lockdownuk

try 10mm, may fix the issue, what size tyres are they ?

just make sure there the hubsentric spacers, ebay or internet will probably throw up the same kind of price ones unless you can get some second hand ones

thats a good point, if not buy 15mm ones and see what there like, or have them trimmed down to 10mm ? should be alright, bit pricey

Not looking to spend a lot of money on this one tbh, as Im going to have to replace the tyre that is worn down :/ I know its not a lot but im only on apprentice wage lol :(

15mm are the minimum size for hubcentrics as the heads of the bolts that hold the spacers to the discs will protrude on say a 10mm spacer. So it's either a 10mm spacer and longer bolts or anything from 15mm hubcentric or bigger.

Sorry to be a complete noob,

What would be the cheapest option? (Im assuming the 10mm spacers and longer bolts, I may be wrong however)

Thanks,

James/Lockdownuk

If anyone could provide me a link of some recommended one that'd be great , don't feel like putting something on that isn't gonna be 100% and possibly cause more damage if it goes wrong :)

Can 10mm come in hubcentric?

Was it not you on here (about a year ago) who knew some guy who can machine them? lol think I still have the PMs about it when I wanted spacers

is it not really dangerous to get spacers that are not hubcentric?

Not so much "dangerous" just puts more strain on the wheel bolts as there is no flange for the centre of the wheel to rest on without the "hubcentric" part - hope that makes sense!
