which stereo utilises the stalk control

hi guys

i cant make my mind up which stereo to get (with mp3 playback), as i want the stereo to make the best use of the remote/stalk on the remote. I want an alpine head unit, but they dont utilise the stalk best.

which make of head unit have you guys bought that makes good use of the steering wheel remote?

could list which stereo u have, which interfacfe cable you had to buy (and where u got it from) and which modes are still available to use on the control

PS THE INTERFACE MUST BE COMPATIBLE WITH MY 52 PLATE CUP.

think sony ad kenwood are the best for making use of the stalk control easily and cheaply!

I have a Alpine IVA-D300 RB with stalk-adaptor, works fine.......Volume + and - and mute, source select and skip forward on cd´s and MP3 disc. Also disc select with cd-changer. Radio up and down channel and search so only thing I miss is going back a track on cd´s.........

Any Alpine dealer would be able to tell you wich cable an interface box you need........As it´s a interfacebox and a cable for the specific car model.

Had stalk-remote on me old Sony too and worked fine too, but it became useless as it´s got hot when turned on to long. And then turned volume all the way up ect.

why cant the alpine go back a track michael?its gay how they go forward and not back an u have to use the bottom button an not the scroller thingy!

Don´t know mate.......But not the worst thing too loose IMO. The Sony I had the bottom button was also used to skip between numbers. The scroller skips radio statoins and disc on the changer, just like the Sony ones.......But yes the could like Sony use a "small click" forward and "long click" back but i dunno why Alpin don´t????
