Whirring/squealing when shoeing it?

Ladies & Gents,

My car has developed a whir/squeal when giving it beans. I must confess that I haven't checked CV's etc. as my new house doesn't have the same facilities as my parents.

My initial thoughts are drive shaft/CV but the noise only kicks up when I really give it the full works. I fitted a brand new O/S drive shaft this time last so will be suprised if that is the issue.

Any thoughts on what it could be other than the common cumprits?

It only happens when I give it real beans. If i'm just moseying there isn't a whiff of it.

I did think it may be an idler pulley as it is due a cambelt change soon but I can feel the rumble through the wheel.

It must be drivetrain related.
