White LED sidelights

From past experience these are trouble, had caused problems on my Mini Cooper with the electrics, and on my Punto GT they failed after about 2mins, flickered then they were out!

Not an RS, but its nighttime so you cant tell :rasp:

Really? I just wondered whether it may be worth trying to match the xenon look but from past experience none of them seem to be bright enough!!!

they were flickering, was something to do with the way the current flows according to Mini i ended up needing to get my 3rd rear brake light re-wired as it was constantly on, changing back to standard sides didnt help.

saying that i may of just been unlucky.

if you are trying to matck the look of the xenon...

...just remove the sidelight bulbs! looks 100x better and no troublesome led's.

Ask joshy hatton i think he does LED sidelights that are e-marked
iirc as long as they are white not blue they are legal.

Thats surely illegal and begging for a tug!!!! :)

no.
just put them back in at mot time.
who is going to know if you have sidelight bulbs in or not if you have your main lights on?
i have never had any trouble with police for running no sidelights and i dont know anyone that has.

Kept the set in I bought a few months back for all of half an hour. You can have mine for £3 posted if you like though ;)! they were originally bought off Joshhatton on here

Amber sidelights ?? I think your getting confused with the amber indicator bulbs .

Mine passed its MOT last month with the xenon look LEDS in .

No, the yellow/amber side lights that all cars have (exc new audi's) in conjunction with the main beam.

Im not sure, I think I want to keep the standard look so nobody can tell whats under the bonnet!! ;)

i think he reffering to the crappy yellow/orange glow you get with the standard sidelights in comparison to the xenon bulbs

Amber is exactly what it says " amber " as in the colour amber or as in the colour of the indicator bulbs . The standard sidelights are slightly yellow in colour compared to the xenon headlights .

This is an old thread lol. Mine came with my car, pervious owner bought mine. But i think they were from Ebay.

I have some in mine and they are s**t...but I did buy them from China for about £2. Poorly soldered connections causing 2 out of the 9 LED's to stop working.

I might take them out to fix them but might end up just leaving them out.
