Who has the fastest 1.2 16v....

i bought my lovely Black 02 1.2 16v Dynamique last year and have thrapsed it from conception, the last 16 months have been hard going but noe the engine is so loose i have had 125mph on the speedo (accuracy a question tho) and timed just over 10.4secs 0-60.

the car only weighs 910kg kerb weight with 75bhp, so the power to weight ratio is quite high. Which obviously helps the pickup.

i also think the suspension is vgood, shame about the body roll tho

how was the 0-60 timed??

that seems a VERY generous time

even with a stripped interior the 1.2 16v would struggle to get anywhere near to that mark

fred, yours may end up quicker, but lets remember how much i spent on mine ;) i dont need big cash to have the quickest 1.2 16v

oh and for anyone who was wondering, i thrashed my car from new, it produced more than 75bhp as standard, and nothing broke on it before it was stolen (12000 miles)

not yet proven tom

it still ha to be raped over a 1/4 mile to see how quick it is, oh and mine done a 31s 0-100 :D and its on camcorder with me and 1 mate in the car on a slight uphill

i want someone to try and beat that in their 1.2s :D

easy mine does 0-100 in 28 secs - not

100kgs of ice its well slow

off a cliff!

no, it was an unfair time, on the A47, Peterborough to Leicester, after the Billesdon turn there is a long straight which also has a decline, tried the other way (coming up the hill) and it did about 15secs!!, the top speed is right though, done that many times on the M1 and M69 going places. How accurate is the speedo though, im sure you can take 10% off that which brings it to just over 110mph

But thanks for pointing that out bambam, lol!!!

(another dream popped)

Ive found the more modern speedos on Clios to be pretty accurate using GPS. The three MK1 Clios that Ive tested (1.4 RT, 1.8 RSi and 2.0 Williams) have all been over reading by approx. 2.5mph at any speed (rather than a % out).

The 4 MK2 Clios that Ive tested (1.6 16v, mk1 172, mk2 172, Cup) were all accurate within 1mph at any speed. The GPS unit also records top speed attained. Ive tested the 172 mk1 up to 145mph on the clocks and the GPS unit agreed.

If anyone near Sheffield has a 1.2 16v that they want to test the speedo accuracy out on, let me know (or see if someone can lend you a hand held GPS unit)
