I always think that if you want something you can get it if you beleive you can. You may be stuck with your 1.2 because you believe this will happen. I ran Nissan Silvias and 200 Sxs when i was doing my BSc and Masters. Im still a student and i have a Williams and a CRX.

1) @ 17/18 - 106 Quiksilver. 5500 notes - Insurance = 700 under sisters policy. Wrote it off 2 months later.

2) @ 18 - Suzuki Vitara Softop - 3000 notes (insurance money) - Insurance = 2000 under my own policy Fully comp, insurance paid on finance.
Was the highest Suzuki Vitara in the UK as well (thanks to my wierd choice of modding....)

3) @ 19 - Brand new clio 1.2 16v Billabong - 1000 from my vitara for deposit. 2000 loan from grandad to make it a 3k deposit. Then rest is on finance... (car arrives next week)

all cars & insurance were paid by me!

Both of my sisters were given cars by grandparents. I was the unlucky one.
