to renault for the bonnet catch?

Just wondering who out of you guys have been in and if you recieved the p*ss poor service i did....

Got there at 8am as i said i would. Asked the guy if he could get it done asap, but i understood they obv had others to do and he seemed quite cheery and helpful, and said i would get a phonecall when it was done.

5 AND A HALF HOURS on and no phone call.... gave them a ring and got told that service desk were busy and would ring me back once they had fininshed with customers.

1 hour after this i just thought screw it and jumped the 45 min bus journey to get there. When i got there car was in the space i left it in, but thought maybe i had missed the phone call whilst out and it had been done....

Went in and woman on parts all cherpy as before said "oh we wasn't aware you was waiting, it is being done at the moment" Now i was pretty annoyed and said no it wasn't, to which she replied "i think i know what is happening in my garage" at which point i politely pointed out that i could see my car where i left it this morning from where i was standing.

After waiting another hour and a half i was told it was done, i went outside to speak to the guy moving the car to see what he had done, when i asked i got "sprayed it with a bit of oil, any one could do it"

VERDICT: nearly 9 hours to "spray a bit of oil"

Believe me i was tempted, i was more than just shocked when i was told in the morning i wouldnt be able to wait for it, but due to it being stupid (8) o'clock (forgive me i'm a student :D) i didn't argue. Will defo not be using them again.

I waited about an hour and a half for mine to be done, took it in at 8am too but decided to sit in the waiting area and wait, after an hour by I went over and asked for an update, 30 mins later job done, simple job really that shouldnt take 5 minutes but we are talking about Renault.

My letter went in the bin . I'm not prepared to wait hours for a quick squirt of oil .

I checked the bonnet catch myself. Didn't need oiling up or anything and I didn't see the point of taking it to my local Reno because they are a bunch of slack jaw faggots IMO.

Thats really weird, took mine into the southend 1 and they were really good! was in and out in half hour, with a recipt and certificate! Got a phone call later that day to ask if everything was ok and was i pleased with their service, then a letter a few days after... I was very pleased :D

They did mine yesterday, as it was in with a prob with the brakes. All they do is check the catch doesn't stick and lube it up lol.

mine's in today for some other stuff (CV boot and headlight washers), so they're checking it while it's there.

Got a 1.4 modus in the meantime - my word, now that really is a terrible car to drive!!!

I still haven't had a call or a letter informing me about the design fault, what shall i do?

it's suppose to only be with the mk2 phase 1 clio's. they made the bonnet catches out of metal on them and alot of them were going rusty and pretty much giving way.

so they clio mk3 (same clio as HAZ511 has in his avaitor) were all made with plastic bonnet catches to stop this.

from what a mechanic told me.!

The car in HAZ511 picture is aknown as a Mk2 phase 2 car.

The Mk3's are the new car 197 etc.

The Mk2 phase 2 can be affected though. Hence why letters are going out to owners.

The main reason I took mine in was as a precaution - if it failed on me, and I hadn't taken it in to be checked, would the insurance company use it as a means to worm their way out of paying up.... probably worth dropping in just to be sure IMO...
