Who would buy a v6

Yeah Alex how is that NOS going, can you feel the extra power (how much more bhp are you running?) any problems?

Simon

  Clio 182 / Lotus Elise S1

Id buy one.. if it wasnt for my 80mile a day commute.. :( ...I think the fuel bill would be huge! But then maybe not that much worse than my 182 (as I drive that hard and get about 28mpg from that on average)? Hey, Im talking myself into it already! :p

Ive more recently decided that I wouldnt ever pay that much money for a car whos dealers are (largely) f**king idiots, and I can say that without driving one. I wouldnt trust any Renault dealer with such an expensive car.

  Evo MR FQ300 & Clio V6

Agree with a few points rasied here and interested about the 911. Always wanted one but as soon as I got the V6 I have gone right off them! - Mind you in three years time once the V6 has been on my drive for a while I may change my mind again.

I think most people on here will have good memories of their first car and probably most would still have them back. - I spent a fortune on mine but would do it all again. (Was 18 years old and 1st car was a pug 405 Mi16x4).

After 3 years of having a toy V6 on my desk I finally own one. Had a Williams 3 but always thought I should have bought a 1 - Could have bought a mk2 V6 but it was the Mk1 that grabbed my attention all thos years ago.

  An orange one

i drove a 255 the other night and its about so much more than speed with the V6, it makes you feel special driving it. as soon as i turn 22 im trading my cup in for a mk1 i think i prefer the softer front end and the fact that its the original not the..."oh f**k we got the handling wrong lets change it version" not that id turn down a 255 ;)

i find that people generalise when it comes to imprezas,

the clio v6 is the elite model of the clio range,

the impreza wrx is the equilivent of the 182 as they sell well go well and are fairly easy to insure,

the top end impreza say a wr1(blobeye), 22b(classic), spec c(blobeye), sti version 5 or 6 type r(classic), s202(bugeye), type 25(blobeye) how many of these do you see????? exactly, and anyone whos driven a properly setup from the beginning scoob will tell u what a devastating car they are, and loaded with extras that makes them special. All of these cars are capable of turning heads. How many cars do u know with a electronically controlled centre diff?

and performance wise on these scoobs should not be mixed up with the 208/215bhp impreza turbos, the type 25 will pretty much annihilate everything in its price range and above!

yes clio v6s look the part but the mark 1 v left me totally cold, people go on about why do people bother bodykitting up a 1.2 when its slow as sin ( i not comparing a v6 performance to a 1.2 btw LOL) but the v6 just isnt fast enough for its looks so............whats the point as a performance car the 182 is far superior

Thats because whether its a WRX. Sti or WR1, they all look very much the same, the V6 clio doesnt look like any other Clio I know?

Also because Scoobies have been around quite a while now, there are 1,000s of second hand ones to be had, so that so many now are owned by "Kevs" (cheap second hand ones that is) who put there stupid huge exhaust and dump valves on them...LOL

I see SO MANY "scoobies" around these days that they have become boring to me (personal opinion).....very fast and great handling, but way to Common for me....

At the last count there are only 17 Mars Red V6 255s in the UK.....Nice.....:D

The V6 255 reminds me of a Ducati 996, Looks awesome, sound awesome, makes me smile every time I see one and yet there are faster 1000cc bikes that can be had for far less money, but I would still prefer a 996...... A classic :D

my mate in mancester says no bats an eyelid for cars like 360s but when a v6 goes past everyone looks.....

  GDI ???BHP Cliosport172

I gotta say something really stupid now-
I spotted a blue v6 mk2 today&it just looks awesome.
That alone would make me buy one if i had the money&the fact that they very, very fast would just be a huge bonus to me!
Also had the chance to go out in one&it was a great experience.

  Clio V6 255

I cant be arsed to go down the impreza vs evo vs clio v6 argument.

Its been done to death but I bought a v6 for what it is.

Yes I could have bought some jap rally rep but these cars "leave me cold". Also, again its been mentioned before but Mitsarus are everywhere. I like my cars to have a little individuality.

The v6 is more about the whole ownership experience, but I guess youd have to OWN one to realise this. :devilish: ;)

25k renault, doesnt have the ring to it does it! then again neither does a 50k nissan!

I wouldnt buy one for what it is tho.

rich[182]

to be different then yes i would buy one

for value for money / bhp per £ then definitely not

value for money its the exact opposite of the 182 (new price that is)

  Renault Laguna Coupe

if youd been at Brands today driving one youd know the answer already.

And value for money has nothing to do with it ;)

and everybody I know that has been even slightly sceptical about the Vee being anything more than a dressed up body kitted 172/182 has changed their minds when they have either been in or driven a v6 and today produced at least one more convert that I know of .. and our Vee has produced a couple in the last couple of weeks as well.

the arguement is pointless, the question was not useful really, and the opinion is individual, which is how it should be

  Clio 182

I drove one today at Brands and it felt much better to drive than my 182 - I loved it :-D

However, with that amount of money to spend I couldnt honestly say if I would get one - Id have to drive a few other cars to compare.

  182

look end of u would all have one if u had the money along with a gt3 and few other cars so dont be in denial ok

  3.0ltr V6

I own a MK1 V6 and bought it for the looks rather than the price. You dont buy a car like that and think about the money. You buy it because as it speaks for itself!

  Octavia VRS

If I had mucho mucho cash then a V6 would be in my collection, if I had 25k for only 1 car I wouldnt get one tho....if you can see what Im getting at

once i have paid off my 172 im gonna get a mk1 v6 for a second car. all argument is pointless true evo scooby could have it but the v6 is the best looking car in the category and gets 10X the attention a scooby or evo would.

  V6 255 Illiad Blue

Picking up 255 this morning. 11500 miles 18,000. i see jap mobiles every 3 ins on the M25 and not seen a VEE on the road yet - well except Jenson button pulling out of silverstone and hooning it off up the road after a test session.

For all the critics, go and test drive one "PROPERLY" and then come back.

I havent yet had someone sat in the passenger seat or looking at it who went wouldnt want one of those.

Ive never driven a mk1 V6 so cant make a comparison, but isnt driving on the edge what sports cars were made for? theyre FUN! FUN! FUN!

id like one, love the looks and every thing but i think id rather spend the money on a mint fiat coupe 20v turbo n make it twice the power and still have change in you poket!!!!

thats just my opinion, if i won the lottery though id have 1 in every colour!!!! ;)
did anybody see the top gear when jeremy clarkson was drivin 1, that looked so impressive, and he really enjoyed it too, "this car would be in my top ten garage", i think its down to personal opinion, i bet there great fun to drive, there is 1 in melton, was parked near centre of town and EVERY1 had there camera fones out (including myself ) taking fotos of the car!!!!
