Who's everyone with Insurance wise and is it a reasonable price ?

Bit of a long shot i know,

The time has nearly came to renew my insurance again and my renewal has went up to £418 per annum with £150 Excess for fully comp for a 27 year old with 7 years protected Ncb with no claims or points etc but a 6 month ban for totting up .

Why would it go up with more years without a claim ?
The claims due to flooding etc ?
Or an increase in car crime down south ?

Mileage is set at 10k and value is 4k with ability to drive other vehicles too.

This is with Direct Line, my insurance was £304 last year with £150 Excess for fully comp, less NCB and was protected too.

The cheapest i have got it down to is £297 this year with same conditions, excesses as my policy thats a way to run out.

I have tried Tesco and Go Compare etc and its in the £400 plus price area. :dapprove:

Are there any specialist that give CS discount.

Are you foreign?

just try lots of places for quotes, it's the only way.

Unless thats classed as foreign ?

I have done a fair few searches but thought theres no harm in asking on here to get an idea who to stay away from etc.

Just your post is written like a nigerian scam lol.

For me, Privilidge, directline and Brentacre are about the cheapest.

im with ensign, and ive paid £919 with 2years ncb, and my old man on the insurance. but i live about 1 mile from hull city centre.

My wife is still learning to drive, so we've bought her a 03 plate 1.2 Clio to practice in. Insurance has come up at about £650. That's with her being 23, obviously provisional, 1 years no claims. For Manchester I think it's a pretty good quote. It's with Admiral.

Directline for me. Was £1070, 2 yrs NCB, license 2 yrs, 23yrs old, 3 Points (SP30), Hire car, huge excess though as im a new driver.

I added my g/f to the policy (4 yrs driving, 25 yrs old, no points or accidents) and it dropped to £860. I was chuffed! Only downside is she now gets to drive my car which is always a risk

Elephant have always been very reasonable for me( 30 years old and 10 yrs no claims )
£265 all in
confused.com is best search engine I've found
could try different times of the day too as prices can vary.

27, 6 years NCB, Protected.
No points, 1 Non Fault claim 3 years ago.
Paid £460 last October on my 182, that was up on the previous years. Shopped around, couldnt beat it by more than £10-15, and it simply wasnt worth moving for that. DirectLine.

have you tried adding someone else as a named driver? i paid £400ish with Tesco & it was about £50 cheaper if i put my mum or dad on.

Aviva quoted me happy at £295 on my 182 with no modifications:-

Im with GreenLight.
When i was 27 last november (28 now) they quoted me £389 fully comp with an excess of £50 but i have 5years NCD and a 12month ban from 24 months previous for excessive speeding, due care and attention and a MS50 which is public road racing.
All mods declared also.

i will be staying with greenlight for next year also as every where else wants to abuse my arse periodically.

  Trophy #473
Im with green light too, 24, 6 points, Clio Trophy, 5 NCB - £670 Fully comp with a £350 excess.

Was with Direct line before - £800 with £1000 excess (best I could find last year)

  Red Clio 197 F1
Wow thought mine was cheap at £350 but sounds as though I'll be shopping around in January time :)

  172
Brentacre wanted £770 from me for renewal,

24, 2 years ncb, 1 claim (not at fault), 0 points.

Elephant though have smashed that and will do it for just under £550. Strange old world.

Grrr, the cheapest i can find is £368 with £150 Excess for fully comp with 7 years protected Ncb.

  Clio 2 RS 182
2002 172 non-cup, 30yo, 1 years NCB (only been driving a year) and it's £780 ish. Renewal is just coming up funnily enough and they've (Elephant) quoted me £840. Shopping around just now on the popular comparison sites has the same joke quotes I got when I initially tried to insure it when I had my provisional.

Guess I need to do some ringing around, but I'm resigned to it being near £1K for a couple of years at least.

I'm 25 (24 at policy start) 5years NCB, 1 claim not at fault, parked off road in 'B' Rated postcode and mine with Brentacre was £650, everyone else including elephant, wanted lots more.

this year, ive just done a lot of quotes, and the cheapest so far is Tesco Value @ 418 , protected is £533

Hmm.. I thought you're no claims only brought prices down from 1-5 years, anything over 5 years doesn't get considered to reduce your rate. I cant imagine your insurance would go down until you enter your 30's, or move house

Sky insurance wanted over 400 odd quid without even my mods declared and Greenlight would insure me with all mods declared for £367 :)

I'm just awaiting Sky's feedback to see if there price comes down any once CS discount comes off.
