Why am i downloading from my newsgroup so slow?!

I'm just downloading and the best speed i'm getting is 35kbps. I was getting up to 400kbps the other day at a similar time. This sucks as it's the same speed i was getting from torrents, yet i didn't pay for those!

I'm using Easynews and Free Download Manager on BT 8mbps broadband. Is it possible i'm being throttled?

I get bad speeds aswell. Gave it a try after all the praise it seems to get, but then went back to UseNext which max's out my transfer each time

mines maxing out at 230kbytes/s on usenext on BT, which is my current connection speed, last week i was 450 but i seem to have have speed problems since the weekend, at one point i was connected at less than 50

my bt internet just went dead, so i restarted my router and bingo, I am back connected at 4.5mb downstream and .5mb upstream so things seem to be back to normal for now.

I knew it would right itself eventually so all you people having problems with speed on BT it should right itself and just restart your router.

I have never had a problem, allways maxes out the line.

If you are having usenet issues there are two possible reasons;

1. You and/or your PC/ISP suck.
2. Your server sucks.
