Why are insurances closed at s**t times!

I have till wednesday to find a new car and transfer it onto my policy as my last one was written off.

Now i am viewing one on sunday. 3 hours away. However HIC insurance are shut all sunday. How am i meant to drive it back.

Any one had this problem

as in next Wednesday. They said all i need to do is state the cars details and it's done as i have already paid the full year.

Yeah might try find someone who can drive another car. But it's a right pain. How can they be shut on a weekend the idiots.

What age are you? Can you not use day insure or a similar insurance company to insure you for the day? Or just ring now and put the new car on your insurance for Sunday. Then if you end up not buying it just take it off again?

Yh i got confused. Bank holiday monday really threw me off, thought it was tuesday lol.

dont think this will work, im pretty sure this only works if the car has insurance already on it in someone elses name.

Do what i did, get a quote on the saturday and say you'll go ahead with it as of Sunday (state a time) - then if you don;t get the car ring them 1st thing Monday morning to cancel it. As its basically been 24 hours (when they're open) they won't have processed any paperwork therefore you don't need to pay them anything.

think that makes sense, trust me it works

or if you're sticking with the same insurance company tell them late on the saturdau you're going to look at a car and you can get like a tempory cover, this like above gives you the option to pull out if it doesn't go ahead but allows you to be covered if you do indeed buy the car.

im 24. Yeah she did mention i could ring saturday and put it on even though i don't know if i will buy it. As i'm sticking with the insurance company I can just say i didnt get it if i don't i guess. They only open till 2pm saturday lol so can't do it late evening.

You want the car on for Sunday? So ring them now and ask her to put it on for this Sunday from around the time you will be getting the car. Some companies will even allow you to have a car added for a test drive, mine did when I bought my 225 and hadn't sold the 330ci, they just added it to the policy for 1 day at no extra cost.

Speak to your insurance company today and get it added. It's easy enough to take it off again if you need to.

I take it your insurance is on hold at the minute as your insurance company have wrote the car off?

It's kind of on hold. I basically have till wednesday to find a new car and my policy will then run up till august. If i dont get one by then it automatically cancels and i have to start a new policy.

I just dont want to ring up today and put it on and say i dont buy it i have to let them know and they may charge me.

Ring them and ask will there be a charge if you do. They're not open for you to do it on Sunday, so you may find they'll waive the fee if there is any!
