My alarm sometime randomly beebs 3 times and ocationly goes of for like half a second !! Why is it doing this it happens about once a week! any help would be aprecitated!!! James
Assuming its the standard fit one then its because you've locked it too quickly after turning the ignition off and the alarm is still getting a signal from the ECU saying the engine is running. Just give it a few more seconds before locking it and it'll be fine.
The 3 beeps is to tell you that the ultrasonics are deactivated. You do that by turning the key to position 3 "without starting the car" then back to release the key twice. It means that essentially you could leave a gap in your windows, your alarm would still be on, but would be activated by someone opening the door from he inside (so putting their hand through the gap and opening the door that way).
Another common problem is when you lock the car the alarm beeps 2 or 3 times.
Reason: The alarm system has received a signal from the vehicle ECU that the ignition is 'on' causing the alarm to beep. This signal is only received by the alarm for 3 to 4 seconds, after this time has elapsed the alarm stops beeping.
Solution: It can only be resolved at a Renault dealer. Ask the dealer to contact the 'Renault alarm help line' and quote reference
'RS+15'.
