why does my boot light only work when door is open!!:?

This is really annoying cantt find anyone who has sctuslly solved it my 1.2 8v ph1 mk2 only lights up in the boot when a door is open rather than when the boot os open this is so annoying!! Please csn someone finslly help me lol???

All the internal lights will come on when you open a door or the boot, the cabin light should be on too when the boot is open not just the boot light.

Do you get a door open light on the dash with the boot open?
Can you set the alarm with the boot open?
If you can then it sounds like the switch is stuck closed.

IIRC, the switch is inside the lock.

The boot switch is on the end of the parcel shelf supports (with the 'speaker grilles' on), the left one I believe. It's a little plunger.

Sorry not been online a while , cant see a switch under parcel shelf anywhere at anyside I assume its in the lock however mine is the ph1 pre facelift made in 2001

thank you very much pal i get i now , mine has that but its just a nobble sticking out no plunge switch on it and no hole where one would of been fitted so i assume its in the lock :/
