why doesnt anything ever go right for me? (brake bleeding)

that pressure bleeder thing is crap.. cant get a decent seal on it. using all rubber and fibre washers and its still got an air leak somewhere

spilt some brake fluid so been having to mop that off the subframe.
luckily doesnt look like any went on my manifold

grrrr
need car tomorrow too. i wont have fucked the system up by putting the pressure bleeder on will i?? also how do you know where the max and min are on these reservoirs?

  C63 AMG, F430 & 172
go buy some ptfe tape m8 that should seel it, my m8s split this on his body work in less than a sec it had taken the paint off

Use a pare of pliers to get it on a tight seal plus use ptfe tape if you want.
They don't make that good a seal but its much easier bleeding them like this.

will i be ok to drive the car?? will the brakes be like normal?
WHat have you done?
So long as you've got bleed nipples in and theres fluid in the reservoir you shoudl be fine just don't push it till you've got them bleed to get rid of air. However you've probably been driving round with air in the system anyway.

all i did was try and fit the pressure kit which resulted in some brake fluid being spat out on the subframe and surrounding areas that ive now wiped up i think.

just drove the car up the drive and the brakes work ok

i didnt touch any of the bleed nipples.

think im gonna get mechanic to o it cos i cant be arsed anymore.. pissed off.

why the hell do renault put brake fluid reservoirs in such s**t places??

It is annoying but once you learn how to do it its good as you can do it yourself.
I'd make sure there no brakes fluid over the car as its nastly stuff.
If you get any on the exhaust manifold don't worry it will just burn off and it stinks.

i made sure there was none on any bodywork. theres just slight traces of it on the subframe

should i treat it to a rinse of water?

i bled my old car brakes no problem with this other easy bleed kit ive got with a one way valve.. but this pressure bleeding kit is crap as it just will not get a decent seal. might clean it up and take it back for a refund. and that will pay for another bottle of brake fluid.

I'd treat it to some water yep so long as you don't go pressure spraying the engine bay you'll be fine.

just gonna pour some water down the back of the engine bay to wet the heat shielding and the subframe driveshaft etc
