Why is nothing easy with Renault?

I went to Renault today, after some prices on a set of [trophy] speedline turinis, and a cup splitter, but they couldn't give me a price on these parts, without a Clio Trophy reg.

Most parts departments in any marque dealership have at least on awkward person working there that you know you need to avoid on any visit, on the other hand there is usually one person working there that is the total opposite. When I used to get parts all the time for my Pug 205 GTi, I used to walk back out and come back later if the one guy was serving at the parts desk!

Same is true at my local Renault dealer, the 182 has a different floor pan you know so normal rubber matts from a base model clio wont fit so refused to rder them for me as he wanted a reg or vin number lol! Went to the other dealer 20mins away and ordered them without any hassle.

my mate wanted to buy the washer jets blanking caps for the front bumper for his 172 but refused to sell them to him unless he had a VIN number for a trophy/cup,he argued in the end and renault used a VIN number of a trophy that they were selling on there forecourt.....just seem like idle gits to me lol!!!

just look in the media section on here for a reg number on the car you want parts for.

thats what i do.

£668 wasted to join the most common brigade in the UK. Don't do it, buy some pro race 1.2s or something else!

I have looked at lots of different wheels mate, as i would like my car to look a bit different from the crowd, but tbh anthracite turinis are the best wheels i've seen so far.

what happens if you give them a reg number then it dosnt recgonise it on there system?
They cannot give you a price they have to go find the fabriaction number of the car ie F123456

The person on the desk needs the refgistration as bits chnaged through the life of the cars so there different part number for seemingly idential cars the bloke on the desk doesn't the the Cuped182/trophy option they work of codes and resgistration and fabriaction numbers.

Your mad if you pay that for them, ring round some local dealers and see who can do the best price I got mine for alot less than that :)
