ive always had this on my keyboard, changed every setting to uk and its still the same. dont think it can be changed for some reason.

after changing all settings to uk have you made sure you delete US completely from there to make sure kit doesn't use it. You can't delete it until you add another language in but as you have UK you should be able to.

If you have already done that then tough sh1t
