will a 172 shock fit my 182

One of my rear shocks has gone on my 182 with cup packs, there is a 172 52 reg full fat at the local brerakers will the shocks fit?

Rears yes, fronts no.

I thought they had different damping rates.

The answer to your question is yes though, as it's a bolt and nut at the bottom and just a nut at the top.
