Will a decat make a difference on a 1.2?

I've been told with a decat I can get 10bhp just from de catting my mk 3 1.2 clio? I am fairly doubtful of this but just wanted to see if anyone else had any idea.

Depends if its a 1.2 tce ( turbo ) or a bogo 1.2 ?

Nope , you'll get 2bhp at most out of that. Noway going to get 10hp from a decat im affraid

It'll run sh*t with a de-cat and won't improve it at all... Just buy a more powerful car when the times right!

Probably give you a bit more noise that's all.

Removing the middle box will just give you more noise, and maybe a tiny flatspot, that's what it does to the 197's.

it wont run s**t, it will give a very minimal power gain and sound a bit louder

It is nice to get more power by adding this & removing that...... but honest opinion..... leave the cat on...... you wont see any difference by removing it on this engine
Car is designed for economy, so has a set ECU Map to give good MPG, not for power

Plus you'll have to be under it before MOT time, putting the cat back on.

I found my old 1.2 had only slight better mpg as my modified 2.0 ?? (not original map)
