Will any old clay do?

it depends what the car needs ie an aggressive clay , a mild clay or something like megs quick clay. There isnt a ''best'' clay though

It's all very similar, except for how harsh they are. Megs Quick clay is perfectly acceptable and very easy to use. However, there are several that are better at their job than others.

Would it not always be better to use an aggressive one then, to make the job easier? I presume there is no risk of damage or anything with an aggressive clay?

There's a greater chance of inflicting marring with aggressive clay IIRC.

I've only used Sonus green clay so far, more than impressed with, although I may use Bilt Hamber clay next time as i've heard good things about it.

As Gex has said, the harsher the clay, the more marks are inflicted in the paint work. You must always polish after claying. Harsher claying will require more correction.

More than a perfect way to deal with Morph, imo.
