will i need a CAT for the mot?

  Trophy #473
Im putting a GT turbo engine in my clio, will i need a cat for the MOT as the engine is pre-cat (1989)?

What reg is it?

M reg or earlier, the emissions limit is fairly high so most cars will pass without an cat.

My valver passed ok, they check the emissions, not whether you hav a cat or not....

Technically no you wont need one as the engine is older than 1992ish but i dont know how you will prove this.

  Turbo Convesion Started!!
aparantly, if your mark clio wasn't made with a turbo, eg, mk1 clio's didnt have a turbo engine made for them, i have been told by a legitemate mot centre you do not need an emissions test!!!!!! This is because they have not got the engine on the system!!

the only thing is, im not sure if this means your engine has to be declared at dvla?

Worth finding out
