Will these alloys fit...

  ?
I know NOTHING about alloys, spacers etc...

saw these on ebay, will they fit my ph2mk1?

Type: All-Weather Speed Rating: V: max 149 mph
Tyre Width: 205 Manufacturer: Fulda
Aspect Ratio: 50 Car Type: Passenger vehicle
Diameter: R16 Condition: Used
Load Index: 87

If thats not enough info, what do i need to ask the seller? he says in his auction...

They are off a Vauxhall, but definately fit Renault Clio Dynamique DCi too as i tried one.

they will be 4x100 and as they're off a corsa will be similar offset. so all you may need is the spigot for the centre which are only a few quid from the motor factor.

ask for the et number stamped on the inside spokes of the alloys.

and ideally you should swap the tyres for 195/45/r16 but depends if your car is lowered

  ?
No my car is not lowered. Why should i swap the tires? since i know sod all please explain everything :) ... im guessing it will look like my cars on stilts.

  Chocolate Bar™
swapping the tyres will give you better clearances but its a bit of a grey area as it depends on the tyre etc. but a 50 is a bit big on the sidewall whereas a 45 is a good compromise between a low-profile look and not too hard a ride in swapping to a 40

Ok thanks. One more thing, the guy says they have been sprayed green, well 2 of them due to an accident his kids had :S

Would a normal canister of car paint fix this? Or would I have to pay for a full refurb! Is there nothing that would gently remove the paint without fecking up the original alloy colour?

I'd want to see very good big close up pics of the other three wheels (make sure he gives you pics of the lot & not just the same wheel repeated four times - like some dodgy sellers do on ebay !)

Tbh I think that they tyre profiles wrong for you, what Middo says is right.
The other thing is that they will need a refurd (especially if two are green !) so really they probably won't work out cheap.

It maybe worth considering just getting a set of actual Renault alloys ?

  Chocolate Bar™
white spririt or similar should remove it, but if the wheels arent proper powdercoated your really gonna need to respray all of them. which may be a blessing in disguise as you can get a custom colour sorted to make them a bit different.

  ?
Oh ... poo. If the tyre profiles are wrong... what can this mean / are the affects?

Ill ask for pics...
There goes my bargain :(

I'd check what the actual tyres are too, as he mentions Fulda in the ad, but Kumho is the make of the tyre - both really poor (budget) makes !
I'd see how much tread is left on them as well.

Tbh mate I would give them a miss.

There is alot of choice on eBay and the fact the tyres aren't the correct fitment will mean there is going to be expense on top.

Also notice he says they were never fitted to the corsa.

I reckon the offset may have been wrong for the car.

Just got this e-mail from him now...

" I have just checked the wheels for you & it says ET 18/40 so i presume that they're just what you're after. Stud size the same. Measured the tread on them all & three are 6-7mm across & one is 7mm across, so loads of life left. "

Hes sending me pictures via e-mail today.

I'd never buy from a seller who clearly knows nothing about wheels, i bet he's not measured the tread from the limiter. I get the impression he's telling you what you want to hear. The way i see it...

- The wheels are bound to be in poor condition plus wrong profile
- The alloys are poor/cheaper quality as they're multi fitment
- The tyres are crap quality
- They need refurbing or at best painting

All things considered they're not cheap

I agree with Rich, wait for a better set to come up, with the correct tyres which don't need a refurb.

Do you not a just fancy a set of proper Renault alloys, like I mentioned last night ?

  ?
Bump. Im asking him about selling me just the rims, as im thinking these could be a little project of mine, and if i do need em refurbed go for black or dark grey...wow :)

Also, he sent me some pictures too. Well actually, quite a few and close ups etc. 2 of the rims have some green spray paint on them like he said, looks like a childs got hold of a can of it! Im not sure if they would need a refurb or what...

Anyone know if the ET number you guys asked for is ok? If i get new tyres would these rims then be ok to fit on my car?

Thanks for your help so far guys.

Mate, seriously, id just leave it. Look for some others, way too much hassle, sooo many wheels on ebay that will fit straight off.

  ?
Hes given me a reasonable price for just the rims... can someone please confirm for me if from the ET number the rims will fit with no need for spacers / any other expense!

  BMW M135i
He says ET18/40 but I can't see how that can be as theres quite a difference from 18 to 40, they want to be ET37 for a Mk2 ideally.

  ?
If someone could please let me know if they will be ok or not, im planning to end the deal soon with the buyer. For just the alloys, I rekon some flattening paper will get the paint off so I could be in for a bargain here... as long as they will fit my clio and not need spacers etc!

Yeah read that after I posted. ET18/40 is rubbish really they surely can't be two different ET's? They're either 18 or 40? :S

Forget them, theres too many holes in the info. I'm 99.9% sure they'll end up being shite.
