Will these resistors work?

  Volvo S40
Hi There,

I realise this has probably been asked a few times but struggling to find results by searching.

I'm planning on fitting my Sabelt wheel at the weekend and I know I need 2 x 3.9ohm resistors to avoid the dreaded airbag warning light.

I don't live anywhere near a maplin so was planning to purchase some on ebay.

Does anybody know if these would fit straight into the airbag connectors: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ALL-OHMS-...t=LH_DefaultDomain_3&var=&hash=item3a97b6b43b

Even though they're a bit pricey I'm considering those out of sheer convenience assuming they will slot straight into the connector.

Otherwise I'm assuming a standard resistor like so will be fine: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1-4W-0-25...t=LH_DefaultDomain_3&var=&hash=item419474d9a8

Thanks,

Jamie.

From experience, the fused resistors give a larger than normal continuous varied resistance. I measured this with my multi-meter after a fused resistor had made my light come on and off all the time and with random intervals. It was like the ecu would get an under/over reading then come back within range. I then went to Maplin and got a few basic resistors (like those in your second link) and they fit perfectly and work perfectly (and they are cheaper). Not a single flash of the light since. Just make sure you get the correct ohms!
