Will we see a new Clio V6?

Hi guys,

I currently drive a civic sport but I want to get something a bit 'special' when I trade it in. I had my heart set on a clio V6 but I don't want to go 2nd hand so I'm hoping that a new clio V6 based on the new 197 will be released. I'm hoping some of you might have connections which could shed any light on apparent claims made by the head of Renault Sport that the V6 may well make a return to the clio lineup. I'd wait for the V6 if it's confirmed, otherwise I'm thinking R32 or Audi TT.

Cheers all

far as i've heard don't think renault have any plans on making one which will be good news for v6 owners.
sure someone will be more informed

humm a civic sport to a V6 bit of a jump there mate, dont you think your best off gettin sumit a little more sensible. the 197 looks to be good.

pus goin from a jap car to a french one your in 4 a massive shock in quality.
R32 whats the point its a wanabe R34 you can get R32s for around 5k now
and a TT bit girlie imo

  Nissan 350Z
I guess its possible we might see one. After all Nissan made a Micra V6 in a similar vain so it is possible on that chassis (although it was never released to the general public IIRC).

I think if a new V6 was released it would almost be a certainty to use the 3.5 V6 lump from the 350Z - and if it did, imagine the tuning possibilities!

Yeah , but would you need to tune it , lol ;)

It won't make a return as a Clio more lilyl as an alpine car and quite likly in a different shell maybe the Megan. They will want to do something as it was whilst a unprofitibale brand it lifted the brand it was the Concord of car production.

Didnt Renault say that there was no need for a new V6 as the new 197 is good enough?

I read in Auto Express not long ago that the renault bosses were not ruling out the possibilities of a new V6. Posted it on here and was apparently old news lol.

if you are talking about skylines, how can an r32 be a wannabe if it was made before the r34? the r32 was just bettered over the years,

Thanks for all the replies, and I was referring to the VW R32:eek:

A civic sport to a Clio V6 is a big jump but I'm a big boy lol

I won't be changing car until late 2007, early 2008 should I decide to go for something within the v6 or R32 price bracket, which is why I was asking about the possibility of a new V6 - doubt there will be any new 255s then.

However, should the new 197 impress, I could be tempted, which would see me buy something within this price range nearer mid 2007. Not a fan of the new civic's interior or overall looks so the new Type R is most likely out of the running. I've also got issues with quality in my sport and had similar issues with my previous 1.4 civic - bought new- so I'm hoping going French wouldn't be a huge mistake. From what I've read, it seems that quality may be greatly improved with the new car (fingers crossed). I do like the current 182 and the fact that it's a genuine giant killer I think evo called it lol but I think the new 197 could LOOK better with a roof spoiler and more pronounced exhausts - just my personal preferences. Pricing should see off neds and boy racers buying them.
